SPEAKER: Troy Champ
Patience is not the act of waiting. It’s HOW you act while you’re waiting. Paul teaches us how to wait in Romans 12:12. He says be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Are you in a season of waiting? Your suffering may be causing you to question the character of God. But James tells us the Lord is full of compassion and mercy. John Ortberg says “waiting means that we give God the benefit of the doubt that he knows what he’s doing.” Turns out, we may have been waiting all wrong.
HOMEWORK
If you need to work on your waiting, dig into Psalm 37, Psalm 40, and Psalm 130. Also, lean on the words of Paul, apply them to your waiting moments, and be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.
