Do It Again.

Looking at old photos can unleash a tidal wave of details of what were, until that moment, forgotten memories. We remember why were in that location, who all went with us and who we met when we were there, the smells that surrounded us, the emotions inside of us, and so many other details that our hearts become overwhelmed in the cognitive flood.

When the photo captures a good memory, it sparks a desire to be with those people in that place all over again. We want to relive the joy and peace and hope that defined that moment. Especially when we lack joy and peace and hope in the present one.

This week in The Life and Lyrics of David, we’ll look at a psalm that hands us a blueprint for how to leverage memories of God’s goodness in the past to cultivate hope in his promise to cover us in his goodness all the days of our lives.

Other texts in this message: Psalm 27:14, Psalm 33:20, Psalm 37:7, 1 Samuel 15:22
