Going through pain is inevitable. Growing through it is optional. - John Ortberg
2773. This is a staggering number. It becomes even more ominous when we realize 2773 is a tally of one man’s failures. But he did not see his experience as 2773 failures. He saw it as 2773 chances to grow.
Thomas Edison’s records show that it took him 2774 attempts to create a working lightbulb filament. As an inventor, Edison understood the process of inventing requires perseverance, it requires a shift in perception, it requires we make a choice: to see our struggles as an opportunity to grow and get better.
In this week’s message from our series Lesssgoooo! we’re examining the role of perseverance in the life of disciples of Jesus, and how we can learn to grow through every struggle we face.
Other texts in this message: Hebrews 12:1-3, James 1:2-4, Psalm 119:71, 1 Peter 1:6-7, Proverbs 17:3
